Hi Nxp
We connected two RTL821F network ports using imx8mp, and now we have discovered an issue. Using an old router can obtain IPv4 IP addresses normally, while using a new router cannot obtain IP addresses and can only obtain IPv6 addresses and DNS addresses. Have you encountered similar problems. thank you!
Which version BSP are you using?
Could you supply your company email, so that we can escalated your questions to our Windows IoT team, and you will get higher support level than personal email.
Thanks
Hi Rita_Wang
my Email:jack_wu2015@163.com Thanks!
It is personal email with 163, can you supply company email?
We need some more information about the issue.
Is it NXP EVK? What is the baseboard (if yes) version and what is the CPU board version.
Also, what do you mean by old and new router?
Is the problem the same with both Ethernet connectors?
Hi Rita_Wang
We use our own designed motherboard. The verification function of the motherboard hardware on Linux 5.10.52 is good.
CPU version:
Both network ports use RTL821F chips. The old router was bought 20 years ago and can obtain IP normally, but it is somewhat unstable under the TP-LINK brand. The new router was purchased from Huawei in 2023 and can only obtain IPv6 addresses and DNS, but cannot obtain IPv4 IP addresses。
You mean linux BSP work well? Window IOT fail? As Windows IOT is not support by us, I will escalated to our windows IOT expert team, so that the more information more details more better. Or you can supply the steps we can reproduce your problem in our side.
Could you share us your design and details about the router, and how could we reproduce your problem in our side? Details steps will be better.
OK, got it, I will try it
