Dear sir,

We are using iMX6q sabresd board running Android 4.4. We have ported TI wl18xx wifi solution and now wifi function(station/hotspot/p2p) is work.

But if we go to Android desktop->Settings->Display->Cast screen, then enable wireless display, we could not get scan results on UI.

I have checked logcat and it actually scan sink device, it meant p2p is work, am I right?

But why can't I get scan results on UI, could anybody help me?

Below is the logcat about this:

I/wpa_supplicant( 3822): P2P-DEVICE-FOUND 64:eb:8c:bd:4a:4f p2p_dev_addr=64:eb:8c:bd:4a:4f pri_dev_type=7-0050F204-1 name='EHDMC1-006218' config_methods=0x80 dev_capab=0x1 group_capab=0x0 wfd_dev_info=0x01111c440000

D/WifiMonitor( 2717): Event [P2P-DEVICE-FOUND 64:eb:8c:bd:4a:4f p2p_dev_addr=64:eb:8c:bd:4a:4f pri_dev_type=7-0050F204-1 name='EHDMC1-006218' config_methods=0x80 dev_capab=0x1 group_capab=0x0 wfd_dev_info=0x01111c440000]

EHDMC1-006218 is the sink device name.

Thanks so much for your help.

Hi igor,

As far as I know, after Android4.2 Wi-Fi display is already implement on Android as "source" mode. So it should be able to scan other "sink" devices.

Now I could make sure wifi p2p is work, it could actually scan another sink device called "EHDMC1-006218" as I mentioned. But in Settings UI could not get scan result.

If I have any misunderstanding, please correct me.

Thanks & Regards,

Wayne

Hi,

Wayne

WI-Fi display source is already implemented. And Wi,-Fi display sink is not available.

If you Wi-Fi p2p works than you should able to scale the other sink device.

Thanks

Hi Saurabh,

Yes, I know that. What make me confused is I could see wpa_supplicant really scan the sink device as below logcat.

I/wpa_supplicant( 3822): P2P-DEVICE-FOUND 64:eb:8c:bd:4a:4f p2p_dev_addr=64:eb:8c:bd:4a:4f pri_dev_type=7-0050F204-1 name='EHDMC1-006218' config_methods=0x80 dev_capab=0x1 group_capab=0x0 wfd_dev_info=0x01111c440000

But I could not get that result showed on UI(Settings->Display->Cast screen).

Please give me some clue how to trace this issue.

Thanks

Wayne
