Is there a list of Wi-Fi 802.11AC + BT5 modules that are known to work well with the iMX8M EVK and the Linux/Android BSP?
Can anyone vouch for the Murata Type 1MW?
Hello Flint,
Murata module 1CX works with the i.MX 8MQ and has support in Yocto Linux. The module provides Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2x2 MIMO and BT 5.0. You can get it here: https://www.embeddedartists.com/products/1cx-m-2-module/
For more detail, please visit Murata’s landing page for modules and hardware solutions.

refer to the linux and android release note:
Supports Murata 1CQ (QCA6174A) Wi-Fi/Bluetooth on 8QuadMax, i.MX 8QuadXPlus,
i.MX 8M Quad, and i.MX 8M Mini.
Hi @joanxie I have just downloaded the latest Android Q10.0.0_2.5.0 and the release notes no longer mention the Murata 1CQ chip. We are using an iMX8QM.
We currently have an Embedded Artists 1.CX M.2 module with the following spec. Would I be correct in thinking that this is now supported?
Alternatively, the Embedded Artists have a 1.ZM module, with the following specification:
I notice that the latest release notes do include support for the NXP 88W8997, but I am unable to find a Azurewave product that provides this chip in the M.2 form factor.
Any help is appreciated!
We've been using the Laird LWB5-1004 (Sterling-LWB5 Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth Module | Laird Connectivity) included with the Variscite DART-MX8m SOM with good success. https://www.variscite.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/DART-MX8M-datasheet.pdf
