The Yocto distribution fetches a binary blob from http://www.freescale.com/lgfiles/NMG/MAD/YOCTO/ which contains all the support for OpenGL and OpenCL in the Vivante GPU. Unfortunately, these libraries don't work with the kernel GPU driver in later kernels and are build against eglibc.
Are there any builds for kernels later than 3.10? Are there any builds which support uClibc? Does Freescale have any plans to open-source the GPU code with the kernel and X11 to make it possible to update these components without compatibility issues with these binary-only components?
Hi Jonathan
one can look at Graphics recipes p.4 attached document
L3.10.53_1.1.0_iMX6QDLS_Bundle : i.MX 6Quad, i.MX 6Dual, i.MX 6DualLite, i.MX 6Solo
Linux Binary Demo Files and Linux BSP Documentation
Regarding "open-source the GPU code", note this is third party IP
(Vivante).
Best regards
