Hi all.

I am using IMX6 solo lite for evaluation.

But I am having some doubts on choosing the JTAG debugger.

I have been trying to find JTAG debugger info on a IMX6 (with DC3) board.

But I couldn't find it.

Now I'd like to buy SEGGER - The Embedded Experts for RTOS and Middleware, Debug Probes and Production Programmers - J-L...  for debugging.

What JTAG debugger should I choose for IMX6 solo lite?

Any pointers would be of great help.

Hello,

Please refer to section “Emulators/Probes” on the following Summary page :

i.MX6SL|i.MX 6SoloLite Processors|Wearables|NXP

The “Hardware Development Guide for i.MX 6SoloLite - User Guide” provides

information how to configure ARM JTAG debug tool in Chapter 6 (Configuring

JTAG Tools).

http://cache.freescale.com/files/32bit/doc/user_guide/IMX6SLHDG.pdf

How to load and run an application to i.MX6 SL memory depends on debug tool.

For example, for the RVDS, mentioned in the chapter above, please refer to Chapter 5

(Debugging with RealView ICE) of the User Guide, linked below.

http://infocenter.arm.com/help/topic/com.arm.doc.dui0155g/DUI0155G_rvi_user_guide.pdf

The i.MX6 SL has embedded memory, which may be used for loading and running codes

without initialization. For external DRAM You have to use a debugger script for Your system to

initialize the memory.

Have a great day,
Yuri
