We need fast boot in my i.MX6 Quad based medical tablet application. Can you tell me if 256MB NOR FLASH (MT25QL02GCBB8E12-0SIT) in QSPI mode is suitable for fast boot? or we have to use NAND flash to achieve Fast Boot in my application?

Hello,

  Fast boot option may be considered from two points of view:

1)  physically fast boot is special eMMC boot mode, supported by i.MX6 boot ROM;

2) general system (Linux) fast boot.

  As for Your system: note, i.MX6 does not support QSPI NOR boot - only SPI (1-bit) may be used.

Have a great day,

Yuri
