Hello Otavio,

I've seen you help a lot of people on the forums. Hope you can give me some advice too.

I built the fsl-image-multimedia for Wandboard Quad without problems. Also modified the u-boot arguments to change the resolution to 1920x1080@60M. The resolution is correctly detected by the X server. But the server seg faults and I'm unable to reach a tty either. I'm only able to send you a partial Xorg.0.log file because am unable to transfer it out of the board without ssh or some other mechanism.

Any idea what could be the reason? Is there any info that would help you debug?

Thanks,

Abhay

So it seems to be something to do with the EXA driver since the error pops up once it's loaded.

Some seg faults with EXA have been reported: iMX6Q / Yocto: X11 unstable (SIGSEGV) with acceleration enabled.

I changed the branch to dizzy and built fsl-image-multimedia-full again and voila!, X started up without any issues at all. So looks like something's broken in the master branch. It's too bad because I wanted to get the gstreamer-1.0 and audio.

Right now there is no audio playing (I did check using alsamixer), but that is for another discussion.

I forgot to mention that I'm using the fsl-community-bsp master branch.

I changed the default init level to 3 so that I can get a tty and make some modifications to test X server settings.  Why does the server not return to the tty after a seg fault?

I think I know the reason for the seg fault -- there is no twm, xterm or xclock built in the image.

Any ideas how the core X11 apps are to be added to the image?

Ok. So I added twm and xterm and xclock to the image and the result is still the same.

The only other thing missing I noticed are the fonts. Here is the Xorg.0.log.
