WLAN & WAP configuration in Yocto on i.MX8 without reboot

Hi,

We are working on yocto build on the i.MX8 platform. We've a requirement to set up the below mentioned parameters (without system reboot) based on user's selection, through GUI, for WLAN & WAP configuration:

1. WAP configuration :

setting SSID, SSID broadcast enable/disable, Key,  Security Protocol etc.

I could find the file for WAP configuration :

/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant-wlan0.conf

But looks like it doesn't have option for controlling SSID broadcast enable/disable.

2. WLAN configuration:

Setting Host name, Domain Name, Gateway/IP Mask, Enable/Disable DHCP, DNS blocks etc.

To my knowledge, the file /etc/network/interfaces can be used to configure the IP address, gateway etc, but I could not find any configuration file for the above parameters.

Requesting your suggestions please...

Regards,

Srikanth Vemula.

Hi srikanth_vemula,

Apologies for the late reply on this thread, it was only recently made aware to us on the support team at Laird Connectivity.

We provide an external layer for building our firmware, driver, supplicant and NetworkManager into your Yocto image. Please find our GitHub repo in the following link:

https://github.com/LairdCP/meta-laird-cp

If support is needed, please contact us through our support portal (click "Open a Support Ticket" at the bottom):

Hi,

I missed to mention the wi-fi module. We're using Laird 60-2230C based WiFi solution. Can you please provide whether NXP has any yocto layer for Laird also, So that it would be useful for me to address my requirement. and also request you to provide sample configuration files for configuring the aforementioned parameters.

Regards,

Srikanth Vemula.

Hi Srikanth

I am afraid Laird modules are not supported, supported models are given on

above link, also one can look at Linux Manual WiFi Chapter included in documentation packages on

Embedded Linux for i.MX Applications Processors | NXP

For Laird modules sample configuration files suggest to apply to vendor of these modules directly.

Best regards
igor
