Hi,

We are planning to use internal oscillator instead of connecting external crystal to the RTC_XTAL inputs of iMX6 solo. For enabling internal oscillator, we have connected RTC_XTALI pin to ground and left the RTC_XTALO unconnected.  Can you let me know if any function in i.MX6 can be affected when the i.MX6 is active because of the poor accuracy of the internal oscillator?

Note, We are not planning on using the RTC in our board. The i.MX6 will always be active in our board and no suspend or power down mode implementation is required.

Thanks,

Sivaraj

yes boot issue is fixed for rev.1.3, however if it is used as clock source for gpt, wdog or other

module it is necessary to consider that it may be up to two times faster than a 32 kHz external crystal oscillator.

Hi Igor,

We are using i.MX6 processor with silicon revision 1.3 only.

Can you please confirm if there will not be any issues in this due to the internal oscillator accuracy in this Silicon Revision 1.3 and future revisions?

Thanks,

Sivaraj

Hi Sivaraj

for possible issues one can look at ERR007926 ROM: 32 kHz internal oscillator timing inaccuracy..

Chip Errata for the i.MX 6Solo/6DualLite
