Unable to view anything on display connected to VGI port of Apalis imx 8 board

I have just unboxed Apalis evaluation board and placed Apalis imx 8 processor in x1 slot

Now trying to flash linux on it...

But I am unable to see anything on display which is connected to VGI port of board..Shall I connect it to DVI D port.? in the startup guide it says to connect to DVI D port but due to unavaiability of DVI cable had connected to VGI port...

Please advise..
