USB to OTG port on MCIMX6Q-SDB

Why is the OTG/USB keyboard and mouse considered not supported on android_L5.0.0_1.0.0 and related kernel builds on the MCIMX6Q-SDB? The board has the OTG port.  Using a 6 inch micro B male to USB A female OTG cable to the OTG port and either connecting a 3.0 USB HUB or keyboard directly into the USB A.

Similar bug was found and the suggested fix was to deselect USB_OTG_FSM.

Is this the correct solution and why on freescales L5.0.0_1.0.0-ga_core_image_6qsabresd pre-built image?

If OTG_FSM is deselected, will the USB-OTG cable function as a USB straight through cable without the USB 2.0 USB_OTG_FSM support?

Hi Tracy,

I just tested “android_L5.0.0_1.0.0-ga_images_6qsabresd” demo images on SABRE_SD with a mouse/keyboard connected to the OTG USB port, and everything worked properly.

If you still having issues, could you please specify where is mentioned that keyboard/mouse are not supported?

Hope this will be useful for you.
Best regards!
/Carlos

Hi Carlos, The serial console keyboard and a keyboard attached to the OTG/USB port issue was because of forgetting to set both hardware and software flow control to No in sudo minicom -s.

Serial /dev/ttyUSB0

115200 8N1

HD flow no

SF flow no

The HDMI display works with a HDMI cable from the HDMI port to the HDMI display.

Thanks for taking time to look at this. They keyboard is supported.
