SPI-NOR boot in i.MX53 ARD board

Hi all

I have a problem in NOR boot of my customer original board with i.MX53 so try to test with i.MX53 ARD board for comparison.

However, we couldn't boot from serial NOR.

Please tell me how to NOR boot in i.MX53 ARD board.

My trial steps are as below.

1. Boot from SD.

2. Tried initialization of SPI-NOR by reference to chapter 3.5 of uboot_mx5x.pdf.

3. Got error message as follows after using "sf probe" command.

MX53-ARD-DDR3 MFG U-Boot > sf probe 1

JEDEC ID: 0x20:0x20:0x16

Failed to initialize SPI flash at 0:1

MX53-ARD-DDR3 MFG U-Boot >

What shuold I do for it ?

Fothermore, if someone have a successful experience to boot from SPI-NOR in i.MX53 ARD board, please share the ucl.xml file.

According to the release note, the SPI-NOR is not supported on i.MX53 ARD board due to the pin conflict with Ethernet.

So why it mentioned in Quick Start Guide ?

I think the board is able to boot from NOR flash. But the BSP is not supported due to the pin conflict with Ethernet (using the same EIM pins).
