Hi,
I am working with i.MX8MM EVK and 4.19 Warrior Yocto distribution.
The cat /proc/iomem
System RAM region as below:
40000000-b7ffffff : System RAM
40480000-4186ffff : Kernel code
41870000-419dffff : reserved
419e0000-41c16fff : Kernel data
43000000-4300afff : reserved
78000000-9fffffff : reserved
b8400000-bdffffff : System RAM
bbc00000-bbdfffff : reserved
bbfbd000-bddfffff : reserved
bdf61000-bdfbcfff : reserved
bdfbf000-bdfbffff : reserved
bdfc0000-bdfc4fff : reserved
bdfc5000-bdff3fff : reserved
bdff4000-bdffffff : reserved
Can we reserve a memory for a buffer. where kernel won't use it to allocate or do no-map.
reserved-memory {
buf_reserved_memory: ibuffer@0xb8400000 {
no-map;
reg = <0 0xb8400000 0 0x200000>;
};
};
Does the above mentioned buffer region (0xb8400000) holds good for reserving the memory.
I can test only on next week, before that i would like to make the code proper.
Please let me know your comments.
Thank you, Sreedhar
