Questions about System calibration template of surround view application

Hi,

In “Surround View Application Reference Manual ”, "4.2 System calibration template", Figure 13 shows  Extrinsic camera parameters’ calibration pattern. From this figure,  it seems that the "Poster Height "  could be different from the "Poster Width". If so, the calibration pattern would be a rectangle. 

However, from the source code of SVA, seems that SVA requires the calibration pattern be square( with equal poster height and width).

So my question is, 

Can the  Extrinsic camera parameters’ calibration pattern poster be rectangle,

or it has to be square?

The calibration pattern can be a rectangle, it is not limited to square.
