Dear team,
Let me ask about Video ADC feature of i.MX6SoloX.
We found that the description of Video ADC input feature got disappeared from latest i.MX6SX Reference manual(Rev.2).
Is the Video ADC feature removed from i.MX6SX?
If yes, is it possible to offer an alternative proposal?
My customer wants to use the feature.
Thanks,
Miyamoto
the community has some issue for me, so I replied to the salesforce, I thought you created that case, if not, I reply here again, I checked the latest data sheet, which says"Removed support of Video ADC (VADC) and TVDECODE throughout."so I think the "C" end of the part number means that don't suppoort VADC anymore.the part number decoder in the data sheet, which includes the VADC is 4VM, but only for "B" in the end of part number, the link in the official website should be correct.
Hi joanxie
Thanks for your support.
My customer is using Video ADC feature of i.MX6SX, and they are using MCIMX6X4AVM08AB for their current prototyping.
They want to use i.MX6SX continuously for their next proto-board as well as the current-proto board. But they need Video ADC feature.
If MCIMX6X4AVM08AC does not support VADC feature, then they does not use i.MX6SX.
They want to use MCIMX6X4AVM08AB which support VADC feature continuously for their next proto and their MP.
Do you know MCIMX6X4AVM08AB will be available till when?
BR,
Miyamoto
what do you mean available? if you mean usage life time, one can refer to the application note as below:
https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/application-note/AN4724.pdf?fsrch=1&sr=1&pageNum=1
if you mean buy the chip, you need to contact marketing team to get more detailed infromation
Dear team, joanxie
According to NXP/i.MX6SX web site(BUY/PATAMETRICS Tab), the VADC feature seems to be supported only the following Parts#.
MCIMX6X4AVM08AB
MCIMX6X4CVM08AB
Please check the following feature table on the web site.
VADC is written only in the above two parts#’s feature.
But as for the feature of MCIMX6X4AVM08AC and MCIMX6X4CVM08AC, VADC is not written but PCP is written instead (I do not know what the PCP means).
On the other hand, i.MX6SX datasheet, please look at “Figure 1. Part Number Nomenclature—i.MX 6SoloX” in the datasheet, says that 4 of parts#( MCIMX6X4AVM08AC) means that VADC is supported.
It seems that there is mismatch between the web site and the datasheet.
The VADC feature is supported also for MCIMX6X4AVM08AC and MCIMX6X4CVM08AC (Rev.1.4 chips)?
Why the VADC written is removed for MCIMX6X4AVM08AC and MCIMX6X4CVM08AC from the feature table on the web?
Best Regards,
Miyamoto
Dear team, joanxie
My customer has a concern that this VADC feature may be removed in near future with updating chip revision.
Could you show me if you have any information on that?
And could you show me how user can know about VADC feature usage, under the current situation that the description had been removed from RM?
BR,
Miyamoto
Can I get an update why the VADC was removed from the Reference Manual Rev 2 ? Normally optional components are covered in the reference manuals and we don't want to use a feature in our product if it is no longer supported.
one can refer to the mx6sx data sheet, what part number do you use? more detailed information, pls check the link as below:
i.MX 6SoloX Family of Applications Processors|NXP
find the Part Differentiator in the data sheet.
Hello joanxie
Now the customer is using MCIMX6X4AVM08AB for their proto.
Now the ADC feature can be used on their proto, but I think the removal of ADC feature from RM means that the feature may removal from i.MX6SX chip in future by updating chip revision.
Can this ADC feature be used depending on parts#?
Best Regards,
Miyamoto
Hello joanxie
OK.
I understand that the Video ADC feature can be used depending on its part#, which is described in datasheet.
It seems the reason why the description of VADC removed from its document is;
The VADC feature is not common feature in through all i.MX6SX parts no more.
If you know any other reason, please let me know.
Thanks,
Miyamoto
