Port of BCMDHD code modifications from i.MX7 to i.MX6

Is there any reason to not port the following code modification on i.mx6?

linux-2.6-imx.git - Freescale i.MX Linux Tree

I am on the imx_3.14.38_6ul_ga and would expect the same type of update for the dts file like: imx6ul-14x14-evk.dts
