Phylink support in ethernet

Hi all,

We are planning to use the SFP module for ethernet interface in i.MX6SX chipset. In order to use SFP phylink framework should be used. STMAC supports phylink, however, the FEC MAC driver is using the phylib framework. We are following this link for adding the phylink support. My concern is does NXP support or have integrated the phylink framework in FEC? If not, are there any plans to integrate in future release?

We are using kernel version L4.14. It has phylink and SFP support.

Any pointer or help on this is appreciated.

Regards,

Kunal

Hi @igorpadykov ,

Thank you for quick response.

It seems the link that you shared is a reference and the enetc is PCIe ethernet controller, is this correct understanding?

I was looking for phylink support in "fec_main.c" (FEC MAC driver), which is using phylib framework. Does ethernet driver supports phylink and can we use it directly?

Kunal

Hi Kunal

sorry, I think you are right:  "fec_main.c" has not phylink support.

For plans to integrate it in future releases suggest to contact local marketing office.

Best regards
igor
