Openocd Flyswatter2 JTAG connect to iMX287 and test communication?

After many struggles following outdated documentation, I hope I managed to install Ubuntu app for Windows, with the Flyswatter2 interface.

Hardware: PC running Windows10 and Ubuntu22 (from windows store), Flyswatter2 connected through USB, custom iMX287 design.

Question: where to I go from here to connect to the iMX processor and test communication?

Please ask for any clarifying details you might need. Below is an image with the ftdi interface config files.

I have not tried anything so far, just spent time during the last 3 days configuring and installing openocd.

@Bio_TICFSL is there a specific programmer you would recommend for this chip? With Flyswatter2 I got to a certain point, however if there is another programmer and software you could suggest, that would be great!

The device is out support, it works with window 7, and linux 2.6.35.
