Mux configuration in IMX

Hi Experts,

In the provided mux configuration for pins in IMX50 there is option of PHY signals of DMA, SRC and USB. Whether these pins are mandatory for the actual working of the USB/SRC/ etc or these and all just trace signals

Would you please provide some more details on what mux configuration you are referring to and which pins in particular?

In the case of the USB there are two integrated USB PHYs and while there are several signals associated they are not all required for USB to work. You may see the i.MX50 Evaluation Kit schematic as reference of USB implementation (link below)

Thanks  for the reply. I saw the IO MUX utility tool in as the pin configuration tool and it has several configurations.

What is the purpose of those USB PHY signals and why it is provided as optional to trace out ? Is there any use case applications to use it effectively ?

The rest of the USB PHY signals are provided in case an external transceiver is required. The supported interface is UTMI so you may want to use an external UTMI PHY.
