MMPF0100 PMIC SWBST Boost issue

SWBST 5V Boost Regulator on MMPF0100 PMIC (used on iMX6 reference design) current limits way too early between 350-400mA instead of spec'd 650mA. Has anyone seen this? We're setting the address 0x66 to 0x08. After we program it to come up to 5V if we then start to load the output goes out of regulation between 350-400mA and seems to shut off. Upon removal of load it does not go back to 5V which is why i think its shutting off

Hi,

As mentioned in section 6.4.5 of the datasheet, the MMPF0100’s SWBST max current load would have some dependants, for example, in order to get to the mentioned 600mA (ISWBST), VIN (VINSWBST) should be in a voltage range between 3.0V and 4.5V and the temperature is other factor, so, in order to get to the 600mA, temperature of the die should be around 25°C

Regards,

Jose

Thanks.

I figured out it was not the Boost issue with the PMIC. The regulator that was feeding this Boost was going out of regulation all the way down to 2.7V which is outside the Boost input voltage spec of 2.8V min
