MJPEG from camera on IMX53

I am trying to get MJPEG capture working from an Omnivision OV5642 attached to my IMX53 START board. I can capture 640x480 30 fps no problem from the camera uncompressed, but when I turn on JPEG compression (by setting values in registers on the camera) the mxc capture sample program times out at VIDIOC_DQBUF, suggesting the system is still waiting for data. I have set CSI0_SENS_ DATA_FORMAT to JPEG and CSI0_JPEG_MODE to 1.

Does anyone have MJPEG capture working on an IMX5*? If so, what all did you change? Thanks.
