We are currently using a iMX6 Sabre board for development, and are looking to see if the Linux distros supported via. Yocto include MIPI support.  We have a custom product we are looking to integrate with over MIPI, and are trying to estimate the effort to get data into Linux.  Is this generic, or does a specific driver/layer need to be created to support this?

Thanks,

Rich

Richard,

If only regrading to driver level, here's related kernel source code on MX6 MIPI support, incluing display and camera:

MIPI camera:
include/linux/mipi_csi2.h
drivers/mxc/mipi/mxc_mipi_csi2.c
drivers/mxc/mipi/mxc_mipi_csi2.h
drivers/media/platform/mxc/capture/ov5640_mipi.c

MIPI display:
drivers/video/mxc/mipi_dsi.h
drivers/video/mxc/mipi_dsi.c

The right question would be if kernel 3.10.17-1.0.0 is going to support any MIPI camera.

As I know the kernel already published (3.10.17-1.0.0) does support one MIPI camera. As I understand, the application does not recognize if camera is mipi or csi or usb, because this differentiation is handled by kernel.
