JTAG to be used as GPIO in MIMXRT1024CAG4B

Hi,

We are planning to use MIMXRT1024CAG4B in our design. Could you please clarify if the JTAG pins can be utilized as GPIO pins in this controller? Additionally, we are planning to utilize the JTAG_TDI pin as a GPIO for the Watchdog input (WDI) of watchdog timer?

Are there any concerns or considerations we should be aware of?

Hi,

Thank you so much for your interest in our products and for using our community.

For RT1024, debugger defaults to be in SWD mode instead of JTAG. Which means that JTAG_TMS (as SWD_DIO) and JTAG_TCK (as SWD_CLK) signals are used. This allows to use other JTAG related pins for different functionality. And yes, JTAG_TDI (GPIO_AD_B0_03) can also be used as WDOG1_B.

Hope it helps you.

Have a nice day!
