It takes about one hour to populate SDK for imx-image-full from imx-5.15.71-2.2.0. and final SDK is about 26 GB after installing.

Is it possible to remove something to speed it up and shrink the size down?

Hello,

Yes it takes sometimes more time to get the image and the space you can build the imx.multimedia image or the core-image and you will save a lot of space, but if you need any gpu or VPU stuff you have to build the full-image.
