Issues with i.MX 8M Mini Evaluation Board - Backlight, Sound, and Weston Service Failures

Hello NXP Support Team,

I am experiencing several issues while using the NXP i.MX 8M Mini (8MMINILPD4-EVKB) Evaluation Board. On boot, I observe the following error messages:

[FAILED] Failed to start Weston, a compositor, as a system service.pwm-backlight backlight: supply power not found, using dummy regulator
platform backlight: deferred probe pending

platform sound-ak4458: deferred probe pending

please provide solutions to resolve these errors.

Questions

1. What could be the reason for the backlight supply power error? Is there a way to configure the correct regulator?

2. How can I troubleshoot the sound card issue?

3. What are the common causes for Weston service failures, and how can I resolve them?

I would appreciate any guidance or recommendations on how to fix these issues.

Hello,

If you are using the EVK you don't have to fight with this issue, for that burn a new image of the latest BSP, and tested, if the issue persist you have a damaged board.
