Hi,

I can find Qt4.7.4 gstreamer backend support for iMX5 (link here).

Does Freescale have any plan to support Qt5 gstreamer backend for iMX6?

Yes, Qt 5.3.0 has support for it.

In meta-fsl-arm the daisy branch has the backport of it for 5.2.1 and in master it is already using 5.3.0. You can use it with the Qt Multimedia Framework.

Hi,

FSL will not support the QT porting issue, to use gstreamer in QT, customer should do the related work by themseleves.

to be more specific, what Charles(Advantech) need, is to have hardware decode support in QT5.0.

So far they can have QT5.0 running on their MX6 platform based on Linux 4.0.0 and play video, but video playback is not smooth, seems it's software-decoded.(not by VPU in MX6)

Hello Charles,

please correct me if anything wrong with my statement above.

Best regards,

Jim Lin.

FWIW, Digia is supporting this directly.

See 1:00 in the video on this page:
