Hi,

We have a client with a strange occurrence when including an imported tar.gz into his Yocto build (imx6). Yocto by nature automatically extracts the tar correctly according to his bb and everything is where it should be and works fine. However, the pre-compiled executables (packed within the imported tar) change their md5sums once on the board. The executables still function perfectly. They have tried all sorts of test executables, adding them to the running board whether single exes or in tars, all md5sum correctly. It's only when adding them to a tar that's imported into the build the md5sum changes and only for exes; all other files are fine. I have advised the client to build their exes within Yocto but this is the way they prefer it. So it's just trying to understand the reason why the md5sums change not so much an issue.

Thanks.

Hi @edwardtyrrell

Thank you for your question, this issue is related to the compilation mechanism of yocto itself. If you want to know the cause of this problem, please ask in the yocto forum.
