Hi
We have a custom IMX8mq board, which uses 4.14.98_2.0.0_ga kernel and all supporting packages of tag 4.14.98_2.0.0_ga , we do video test for performance , couple of units freeze overnight, The unit freeze only when the video is played on top of Weston, using waylandsink , if I dont load weston and run the video using autovideosink, it uses KMSsink and the video runs properly, no freeze,
The unit also freeze when i run weston test application like weston-simple-egl, it runs for a while and then freeze, from this I assume the unit freeze when the GPU is used. I assume the GPU causes the freeze,
IS there a way I can change the GPU mem Size or is there any patch for GPU need to be done on top of 4.14.98-2.0.0_ga.
Thanks and Regards
Terry

Hello Agnel,
I heard of some problems similar to this one before bet never get a patch for it, you should download a newer version of kernel, the 5.15v is stable and hope you don't get freeze.

Hi
Thank you for the reply, changing 5.15 is not possible, I am using buildroot, I hope I cannot just change the kernel version alone, I hope I need to chnage uboot and atf too, am I correct, and I am using gstreamer also with tag 4.14.98-2.0.0_ga, not sure if I need to change those, please advice .
I found online someone who faced GPU crash , has updated the PMIC VDD_GPU as follows,
regulator-min-microvolt = <950000>;
Not sure if it help. Please provide your comment on this.
Thanks and regards
