I'm testing a TQMa8QPS board, a System on Module with the Imx8x quad plus SoC. I need to test the ECC RAM capability, but if I launch the edac-util tool I get this answer:

root@tqma8xqps-mb-smarc-2:~# edac-util -s
edac-util: EDAC drivers loaded. No memory controllers found

I checked in the kernel config, and I was not able to find anything about the imx8x, just other options about other cpu, but they are disabled, since they require a different architecture configuration. Is the edac memory controller driver available for this cpu? How can I check if I've got the right driver? Can someone please help me test the ram ecc?

Thanks,

Ernesto Varoli

Hi Ernesto

not supported means that not all questions could be answered

due to lack of documentation and code examples. Part development had not

finished yet. Regarding " time of availability" suggest to apply to local nxp

marketing office.

Best regards

I am having the same issue using an imx8qm (Toradex Apalis) with the dunfell yocto build from Toradex. Should I go about other means of monitoring ECC for the imx8qm?

Hi Igor,
Thanks for your answer. Can you please explain a little bit more? What do you mean by not supported? Not supported by the hardware, not supported by the kernel or not supported by the edac utility?
Do you have hints about the time of availability? Even a coarse deadline would be helpful for me.
Thanks again,

Ernesto
