4K 60fps mp4 decode on the i.MX 8M QUAD EVK is very choppy. Its clearly not decoding correctly. I would appreciate help getting this to decode smoothly.
System and media details are as follows:
i.MX 8M QUAD EVK
setup is out of the box Android
decode executed with mp4 file located on both a USB drive and on the onboard media
Media Info shows following mp4 file spec:
format: AVC
profile: main@L5.2
bitrate: 37.3 Mb/s
height: 3840
width: 2160
framerate: 60.000 fps
color space: YUV
chroma subsampling: 4.2.0
bit depth: 8 bits
what android version do you use? refer to the android release note:
To support 4K HDR video playback, the CMA size is set to 1536 MB by
default. Change cma=1280M in bootargs when measuring the benchmark
performance.
pls try to check this

for release note, pls find the attachment, you can try to test as release note says, I got information from android team, 8.1.8mm beta includes all of fix, but we haven't released it public, you need to wait or contact local representative to get sample first if you have this right
The Beta version was just released this weekend.
Please take a look and give it a try as suggested.
