IMX6 UL PIN MULTIPLEXING

Hi

I am using IMX6.UL processor pin . I am using RS232 transmitter using serial port. Can i use the same pin as GPIO for transmitting IR signal.

Is there any support in IMX6?

Please guide me on this.

Hi @Hamza_Hassan,

Hope you are doing well.

One can check the Available mux options of the pin which is configured as a RS232 Transmitter in RM. If the possible pad is GPIO*, then you can configure the same pin as a GPIO for transmitting IR signal.
Please note that once you configure this pin as a GPIO, After that you will not be able to use the same pin as Rs232 Transmitter.

Or should I need to reboot every time for new configuration?

Hi @Hamza_Hassan,

Unforutnately, doing runtime configurations is not possible.

The configurations must be done in dts.
