Hi,
We have a design based on the MIMX8ML8CVNKZAB processor paired with an LPDDR4 memory module, part number MT53E768M32D4DT-046 AIT, which is now obsolete.
Our distributor has recommended the MT53E768M32D2ZW-046 AAT as a compatible replacement.
Could you please confirm if this new memory module is fully compatible with our processor?
Additionally, we noted a difference in device configuration: the original memory had 4 dies, while the replacement part has only 2.
As a result, some clock enable (CKE) and chip select (CS) signals will no longer be used.
Can the processor support this new die configuration, and are any adjustments needed to accommodate the different setup?
Thanks for your support!
Best regards,
Florian
Hello,
It is compatible, our DDR tool has the option to configure the device using only one CS. Here our i.MX 8M Quad/8M Mini/8M Nano/8M Plus - LPDDR4, DDR4 and DDR3L memory compatibility guide that can be used as a reference.
Best regards.
Hello JorgeCas,
Thank you very much for your support, which is greatly appreciated. I have some additional questions:
Could you please let me know where to find the DDR tool and its documentation?
To run this tool, do I need a specific interface or setup on the processor?
This tool is for debugging, correct?
Once validation is complete, what process should be followed to integrate the settings into the processor's configuration files?
Is it possible to request a schematic review from NXP to validate the correct implementation of the memory with the processor?
Best regards,
Florian
