Hi,

We want to use IEEE 1588 feature on i.MX6Q Gigabit Ethernet MAC. I have two questions:

1. We need i.MX6Q output 1pps signal. Which pin of the i.MX6Q can be used to output the 1pps? Can we use ENET_1588_EVENTx_OUT?

2. We need i.MX6Q ENET output 50MHz clock so that devices connected to the 1pps and 50MHz clock can get precise timestamp. Can ENET_1588_EVENTx_OUT be used as 50MHz clock output?

Thanks!

Hello,

The following thread clarifies the issue.

ENET-1588 PTP with hardware timestamp

For more information please refer to section "How to Use the Stacks in Linux OS" in

"ENET IEEE-1588 Driver" chapter of "i.MX_Linux_Reference_Manual.pdf".

Also, note : to activate PPS on master the phc2sys should be run with ptp4l.

Have a great day,
Yuri
