Hello All,
We have an iMX8 QM(Apalis Module) and Ixora carrier board.
We have hdmi 1920*1080@60 right now!! I am currently trying to use the HDMI Interface on the i.mx8qm without I2C.
We want to connect HDMI to the an fpga board and dont want to have I2C!!
May i know whether the Bypass I2c EDID for the HDMI I2c? I see that in the driver drivers/video/mxc_hdmi.c, there are a lot of configurations that is related to i2c communication.
By the way, I do not need to configure any setting on the HDMI display.
Thanks.
Regards,

Hi @hhami_2040,

I hope you are doing well.

->That HDMI I2C can only be used from HDMI IP. This is used by HDMI IP for communicating with the display devices like TV and monitors.

->The HDMI has a Master I2C interface for a display data channel (DDC) connection. The HDMI bus has Display Data Channel (I2C bus for configuration and status exchange between two devices). The DDC connects just like a standard I2C bus. The HDMI module can drive the display data channel (DDC) bus, which supports a variety of I2C commands, on the hdmi_ddc_scl and hdmi_ddc_sda pins. This allows the TV set/monitor to provide information to the host device, such as supported resolutions.

->Please share the FPGA board schematic, the block diagram you are using & how are you setting up the system, please share more on it.

Thanks & Regards,
