Hi.

I tried to download and burn images to imx6ull under Linux through both mfgtool2 and UUU upon which some problems encountered as describled below.

1.mfgtool2 (mfgtoolcli) error[21]

2.UUU downloading stuck

Building Env Info:

  • MX6ULL kernel version:4.1.15
  • Build env: Ubuntu 20.04
  • Some hardware have been modified from board imx6ull14x14evk(mostly small type change for ddr3 and nand/emmc)

Specifics.

My employer designed a product using IMX6ULL for industrial base station use.  I have already finished building and compiling  procedure. I took use of mfgtool2 under Windows7 before and it worked, but for now we want to finish building and downloading procedure both under Linux env.

First, I tried .sh scrpit in L4.1.15_2.0.0-ga_mfg-tools branch, all VBscript and cfg same as they are in Windows7, I tried 'linux-runvbs' and also 'linux-cvbs' later, terminal all shows:

ModuleID[2] LevelID[1]: Parse ucl script failed, error code: 21

After that, I fetched new mfgtool(UUU) from ’https://github.com/NXPmicro/mfgtools.git' and also LF_v5.10_1.0.0_images_IMX6UL7D.zip for image.

After building uuu, I replace some bootloader&image name in 'example_kernel_emmc.uuu', the command I put in cmdline is like 'uuu example_kernel_emmc.uuu', but it keeps showing message like below.(the bar keep moving from 0% to 100% ,and some uboot message can be detect from LCD same time.Firmware kept untouched)

uuu (Universal Update Utility) for nxp imx chips -- libuuu_1.4.127-6-g0ecc166

Success 0 Failure 0

1:9 1/ 1 [=================100%=================] SDP: boot -f u-boot-imx6ull14x14evk_emmc

My question are as below.

1.What is the right procedure for burning images to IMX6ULL through UUU tool? Does my hardware change have influence on that?

2.Would mfgtool2(mfgtoolcli) work properly? or where can I find the source code just for downloading under LinuxOS.

Tks for your kindly help in advance. Looking forward to your reply.
