How to take kernel crash log backup from /var/log/messages to another file using klogd and syslogd

Hi Friends,

I want to take the backup of kernel crash logs in to a file in /home folder, how we can do it, if any one done already can you please give me some references.

FYI

linux version - 3.0.35, my board is similar to imx6 sabresd board

Hello Bandaru Lavanya,

You should be able to edit which logs are recorded and to what files on the /etc/syslog.conf file.

There is some useful guidelines on this on the following link. These are directed towards BSD but the log configuring is the same as Linux.

11.7. Configuring System Logging
