How to set the Drive Strength of LPDDR with i.MX28

Dear All,

Our customer connects LPDDR memory to i.MX28.
(LPDDR: NT6DM64M16BD-T3)

They tried to set Drive Strength to this LPDDR using HW_DRAM_CTL183 register of i.MX28.
However, Drive Strength of LPDDR did not change.

According to the reference manual, the following is explained.

"For LPDDR1 memories: This parameter has no meaning for this memory type."

MCIMX28RM.pdf(rev2):
- 14.8.172 DRAM Control Register 183 (HW_DRAM_CTL183) (P.1322-1323)

Is there any method of setting up or changing Drive Strength of LPDDR?

Best Regards,
Yuuki

Hi yuuki

for LPDDR memories drive strength is changed

by EMR register (bits 5-7), this is handled by

HW_DRAM_CTL185 register of i.MX28.

Best regards

Dear Igor-san,

Thank you for your support.

Is EMR register (bits 5-7) of the memory assigned to bit5-7 of HW_DRAM_CTL185 register of MX28?

Best Regards,

Yuuki

Hi Yuuki

yes, from sect. 14.8.174 DRAM Control Register 185 (HW_DRAM_CTL185) MCIMX28RM

For LPDDR1 memories: This parameter correlates to the extended mode register (EMR).

Best regards

igor
