How to power up iMX6UL without a button

I would like to connect the ONOFF pin so the CPU will power-up when applying power to the board, without a button.

Can I just connect it to GND? I'm afraid the the CPU will power off after few seconds (simulating a long button press).

In common words the board simply should meet the power up sequence.
So if power up sequence is OK it is no matter if the board is started turning on the switch or directly with connecting the power.

So if I understand correctly - there is no need to deassert the ONOFF pin in order to power up the CPU. Is it correct?
