How to enable the hdmi for imx6dl custom board with lvds-hdmi bridge chip

Hi nxp-community,

we have a custom board on which supports an imx6dl som and has got implemented a lvds-hdmi bridge chip (it6263).

I have adapted the device tree, added video command to uboot and configured the CONFIG_DRM_ITE_IT6263=y. Also all DRM and SIMPLE_PANEL config switches are enabled. The bridge chip is recognized by the it6263 driver - but that's it then.
It seems that imx-ldb register function, which should attache the bridge, is not called during startup. mxc_sdc fb instead is messaging that the display driver ldb has been registered.

Unfortunately I do not get any further - hope you can help.

one can look at example of i.MX6Q with another hdmi bridge (parallel with  sii902x)

 and try to perform similar apprach:

Hi Igor,

thanks for your reply, problem has been solved. I went to all configuration again, recognizing that imx-ldb.o is not built - Switching from MXC to IMX video driver system (e.g. CONFIG_IMX_IPUv3_CORE) has solved the issue. Now imx-ldb functions are called and the bridge chip is attached, up and running : ).

Can you perhaps explain the difference between the two "driver systems"?
