How to Switch Ports in Deserializer and Capture from Individual Cameras on i.MX8MN?

I am working with an i.MX8MN processor connected to a deserializer module - ds90ub960, which is further connected to a serializer and then to an image sensor. I am currently using Linux kernel version 6.9 for my drivers.

I need to switch the ports in the deserializer dynamically to capture data from individual cameras connected to the deserializer. However, I am not sure how to achieve this.

My Setup:

  • Processor: i.MX8MN
  • Deserializer driver: ds90ub960.c
  • Linux kernel version: 6.9

What is the recommended way to switch ports from the deserializer driver in ds90ub960.c 6.9 kernel version?

Hello @blessyAbraham

I hope you are doing well!

Officially, the NXP BSP does not support the 6.9 Kernel version.

Also, you can get information about of the DS90UB960 on your i.MX board in IMX_REFERENCE_MANUAL (current kernel version is LF6.6.52_2.2.0) on chapter 6.1.3.2.3.2 Texas Instruments SerDes.

To achieve the port switch, you can try with the media-ctl tool. Examples are described in the same document in the chapter 6.1.3.2 Raw Cameras.

I hope this can helps to you.

Best regards,

Salas.
