How do we change the default console / LCD font?

We have an LCD attached to the iMX8 Mini. When linux boots up we can redirect the console output to /dev/tty0. Or we can write some text manually, eg:

   # echo "Hello World" > /dev/tty0

But the text font is very small. How can we make the font larger?
