Hi all,
I want to attach J-Link to HiFi4 DSP core on imx8qxp-mek device (rev. C0). HiFi4 core I run always after Linux boot. I know that SEGGER introduced support for this core from Tensilica from J-Link version 7.70. But when I try to connect to it with JLink GDB Server or JLink Commander, the device is resetting. Maybe special conditions is needed to enable connection to HiFi4, maybe some changes via U-boot is needed? I would be grateful for any advices.
Hi @Ferromagnetic ,

Hi Hector,
thank you for response. I would like to ask if any news in this topic is available?
Hi @Ferromagnetic ,
We unfortunately don't have any demo or information regarding using JLink to debug HiFi4. I highly recommend using Lauterbach's software and hardware's examples and demos as a reference to use JLink. In the case where this is tried and results in failure, using Lauterbach instead is highly recommended as well.
Best regards,
Hector.
Hi @Ferromagnetic ,
We've been trying to get HiFI4 debugging working with JLink but we're having issues successfully doing it. For the i.MX 8QXP, the debugging methods are usually done through serial console of the HiFi4 with the expansion board. There's also ways to debug with Dstream and a Lauterbach and are using these to try to get JLink working. Thank you.
Best regards,
Hector.
