Hi,
One of our customers (Secure Meters) is doing a signal integrity analysis using Altium tool. They are using IBIS model
“14x14_imx6ul_consmr_1.ibs” of i.MX6UL processor (MCIMX6G1CVM05AB ) and facing attached error while importing into the tool.
I have attached the error message and the log. Can you help with the problem, what to be done?
Regards
Prakash

Hello,
From section 5 (Understanding the IBIS Model) - the i.MX6UL IBIS
models was tested with the Hyperlynx tool by Mentor Graphics.
As for the “ERROR (line 705) - Model Descriptor string 'DDR, 1.8V, rgmii mode,
116/104 Ohm pd/pu driver impedance' is too long, truncating to 56 characters” -
According to IBIS specifications:
| Keyword: [Model Selector]
| ....
| The contents and format of this description is not standardized,
| however it shall be limited in length so that none of the
| descriptions exceed the 120-character length of the line that
| it started on.
|...
You may try to edit the “suspicious” lines manually.
Regarding the `non-monotonic` messages:
Usually only warnings may be observed regarding non-monotonicity, and generally these warnings may be skipped. Note, that some non-monotonicity may appear, because the parasitic diode of the transistor starts to conduct in parallel to the transistor.
Note, that IBIS specs declare that after subtracting the clamp current from the total current, the curve might be non-monotonic. Please look at the relevant section from the IBIS spec below :
It is also recognized that the data may be monotonic if currents from both the output stage and the clamp diode are added together as most simulators do.
Have a great day,
Yuri
