Hardware Trigger for Image Capture

Hi All,

In the example codes provided for image capture from OV5640 using imx6, i always see that the image capture is using v4l2 either being read from a older buffer or started with a software trigger. Is it possible to start a image capture using external hardware trigger? is there any driver or v4l2 limitation? is there a feature in ov5640 that can be used to achieve this?

I want the frame at a particular instant where the hardware trigger is happening. So it is not possible to start a capture from software in my application.

Hi Raja

one can try to use for such purpose CSIx_DATA_EN.

Also as sensor is master for synchronization signals, it can

provide ability for external sync. One can consult with sensor datasheet

for availability of such feature.
