Hi,
In the hardware design guidelines it recommends that HDMI_VP and HDMI_VPH are grounded if not used.
In our design we may populate the HDMI feature for some boards and not for others. Is it ok to keep the HDMI_VP and HDMI_VPH pins powered when not used? I would prefer this over trying to fit in a series 0R link to disconnect the supply and then populate a cap footprint with 0R to ground the pins.
Presumably this recommendation is to save powering the HDMI interface when not used, thus reducing power? Is it "safe" to keep these pins powered against the recommendations in the development guide?
Thanks,
Mark
Hi Mark
you are right, this recommendation is to save overall power consumption
when HDMI interface is not used. Also one can keep these pins powered even HDMI
is not used.
Best regards
igor
