GPU performance in IMX6Q and IMX6S

Dear All,

We are using a IMX6S based custom board running android in it. When we play games in that, it is loading very slowly and looks like board is hanged.

I have IMX6Q sabre sd reference board. In that it works good.

1. As the GPU is different in IMX6S(GC880) and IMX6Q(GC2000), the performance is not good in IMX6S or can we bring the same performance as in IMX6Q? kindly advice.

2. Can we have better performance in IMX6S? i.e. is that support 3d games?

Hi jk

you are right - i.MX6S has only 32bit@400MHz DDR compared with 64bit@532MHz i.MX6Q

and its GPU is more weak than i.MX6QD. So for high performance graphic applications

one needs to use i.MX6QD.

One can try to disable DVFS and set kernel boot parameter  enable_wait_mode=off.
