Failed to boot latest Linux version on IMX8MM-EVK

I have been trying to run latest Linux 5.15.32_2.0.0​ iMX8MMINI but it stops booting and print error in serial output : pcie: PCIe PLL lock timeout and hangs.

The older versions I tried:

  1. Linux 5.10.72_2.2.2
  2. Linux 5.10.72_2.2.0
  3. Linux 5.4.70_2.3.0
  4. Linux 4.14.98_2.0.0 (Worked!)

I see that the "Can't find PMIC:PCA9450" I think it is the PMIC cause the failed boot.

Maybe the board in your hand is old board with the ROHM BD71847MWV, but our newest version board and BSP use and support PCA9450.

In your side Linux 4.14.98_2.0.0 work well, because this version BSP support the old design with the BD71847MWV.

I am using 2018 NXP iMX8MM-EVK LPDDR4 version of the board and thats why I cannot get the latest Linux distro on my board.

You are welcome.

If you want to use the newest BSP, you need to do the PMIC porting for your board.
