Ethernet Setting is not getting stored on Android 13 [i.MX8QM MEK Board]

Ethernet Setting ( Static - IPV4) is not getting stored on i.MX8QM MEK board running on Android 13.0.0_2.0.0 (L6.1.22_2.0.0 BSP). I am not getting any error message while configuring the IP address of the evaluation board. The behaviour is same on i.MX8M plus board too.

Configuration of IP address using Ifconfig command is not persistent. Configuration get lost after reset on even on plug unplug network cable.

Ethernet APK has been also removed from android 13 prebuild image.

Please help to getting it resolve.

In this case you can try adding a script to the init.rc file, configuring your static IP address.

Thanks for your quick response , I will try the same and let you know whether it works for me or not. As per my understanding init.rc will be called during boot time of the device where as network configuration setting also getting lost in case of network cable plug/unplug. How to handle this plug/unplug issue while device is in running state.

Is there any specific reason why this ethernet app has removed from prebuiled image of Android 13 without getting validated inbuilt ethernet setting option ?

Yes, init.rc is called during the boot process after the kernel initialization.

Regarding the ethernet app for Android 13, I will review in the next Android release if this app can be included.
