Hi community,
I have a question about i.MX6DQ VPU.
Please see Table 69-1 in IMX6DQRM Rev.3.
It says h.264 decoder supports HP (High Profile).
According to "Feature support in particular profiles" table in the following site, high profile supports "4:0:0 (Monochrome)".
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/MPEG-4_AVC
Then, do i.MX6DQ VPU and Linux BSP (L3.14.xxx) support "4:0:0 (Monochrome)"?
Best Regards,
Satoshi Shimoda

Yes, the i.MX6DQ VPU decoder can support Monochrome format in the H.264 High Profile stream. However, the decoder's output format is always 4:2:0 for all profiles/codecs. In case of Monochrome stream, a fake (zeroized) color components will be output.
Have a great day,
Artur
