Does IPU convert color video stream to monochrome?

We are designing a platform of the surveillance system using iMX6. During nights we need to get monochrome video from color stream. Does anyone know whether IPU can convert color video to monochrome using such as "color space conversion"?

Color stream will be provided in YUV format.

I'd appreciate any responses.

I am afraid no sense to make color space conversion

since ipu does not support monochrome output (monochrome lcds).

Color space conversion can be used to produce YUV 400 (monochrome)

output, also one can just use Y component as it contains black and white

data.

Thank you for the advice and sorry for my poor explanation.

Our input is a color camera and we would like to generate a gray-scale stream from the color stream before we compress it.

I think "IC" block in IPU has "color conversion" feature and we can use it for our purpose.

I'd appreciate your feedback.
